Fields of Green: Unlocking Ministry Potential through Asset Stewardship

This webinar invites congregations to rethink their buildings and campuses as assets for ministry, not liabilities. Sharing stories of various congregations, this workshop will offer practical strategies for churches on how they can use their space to serve the wider community, generate revenue, and expand mission impact.

About the Webinar

Mark’s account of feeding the 5,000 offers a lesson in perspective: while the disciples saw scarcity in a deserted place, Jesus saw abundance on green grass. This webinar invites congregations to rethink their buildings and campuses as assets for ministry, not liabilities. Sharing stories of various congregations, this workshop will offer practical strategies for churches on how they can use their space to serve the wider community, generate revenue, and expand mission impact.

About the Presenter

Steve Lindsley is a Senior Ministry Strategist with Horizons Stewardship, where he brings over thirty years of experience as a pastor in both rural and urban settings. With a clear commitment to viewing challenges through a lens of abundance rather than scarcity, Steve has successfully led his congregations in numerous generosity initiatives, funding annual ministries, addressing major capital needs, and fostering a strong culture of planned giving. His approach to stewardship and fundraising is grounded in scripture, emphasizing that generosity is less about what God wants from us and more about what God wants for us.
In addition to his church fundraising experience, Steve is a leader in Horizons’ asset stewardship work—a new initiative aimed at helping congregations convert excess facilities and/or campus space into assets for ministry and mission. This innovative approach not only enhances ministry impact but also creates new revenue streams to further fund the church’s overall mission. Steve’s ability to guide congregations through these challenges stems from his deep understanding of the unique dynamics and potential of church communities.
